Building Your Home On The Church

How important is the church to your family?

The Hebrew writer admonished, "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

There should not be a debate each week about whether or not you and your family are going to the worship services of the church. God's Kingdom is more important than other things in life. It provides a foundation against the attacks of the world. Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God..." (Matthew 6:33).

What are we teaching our children about the church? It is not just something we do on Sunday morning. Nor is it merely a social club or learning center. It is God's redeemed with a mission to save the world! Jesus "is head of the church and He is the Savior of the body" (Ephesians 5:23). He "loved the church and gave Himself for it" (Ephesians 5:25). The church was "purchased with His own blood" (Acts 20:28).

Is your family an attending, active, involved part of the church?
