Haltom Convalescent Home

For over twenty consecutive years members have been conducting a Sunday afternoon worship service.

Youth Group Activities

Our youth not only have fun together but also work together.

    Our youth actives are varied. We have devotionals for the 9th through College aged on the second and fourth Sunday evenings after worship services. The devotionals include singing, praying and scripture discussions. The youth also travel to other congregations to help in their summer Gospel meetings and help with their vacation Bible school programs.

    We have outings to Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. We have bowling, miniature golf, and pizza parties. In the summer transportation is provided to attend the Summer Youth Series, which are held at congregations all over the Ft. Worth/Dallas Area. At these meetings they can hear Gospel lessons geared toward the youth, and it gives them the opportunity to meet other Christians. Another activity is the Bible Quiz, which is held from September through May.

    We also try serving our shut-ins. Every year between Thanksgiving & Christmas we prepare holiday baskets for our members that can not come to services. We have members of the congregation bring fruit, treats, stamps, cards & envelopes. We also travel to these members homes to encourage them with song and prayer.

Visitation Program

Visitors, who request a visit, are visited at home by one or two members. Members also visit shut-ins, the sick and those in hospitals.

Bible Correspondence Courses

Free Bible correspondence course are sent and graded by our members. This study of God's Word is done through the mail. Currently students from all over the world are enrolled. The study material is in the English language. The course is produced by  www.tftw.org.

Internet Presence

It is the hope of the brethren at Birdville, that this new medium can be used to promote the Gospel. It is part of our outreach program to teach others about the Word of God by offering free Bible correspondence courses. It is also being used to introduce the Birdville church of Christ to our neighbors both locally and around the world.

Television Programs:

Truth In Love

Birdville helps to support two television programs. The Truth In Love program is locally produced and has included as its speaker our minister. These programs can be viewed on many cable systems, local television broadcasts, and on satellite broadcasts.
